Mystery solved, stench eradicated! Our dearly departed mouse friend's corpse was located. The body had been hidden cleverly by the murderer, who has yet to be named. All signs point to Karma, because Kizzy has laziness and old age as her alibi. Forensic reports aren't back yet, but the crime scene has been cleared and all is well. Mr. Mouse's remains have been respectfully disposed of...well, make that FLUNG into the woods. A suitable burial, yes?
In other news, my cell phone broke mysteriously. It was fine, I think, at 1:00 a.m. when I was texting my sister. When I woke up this morning, it was broken. It was a flip cam, but it wouldn't flip open, rendering it useless. Some of the buttons were starting not to work well from too much texting, so it was inevitable anyway. James went to the provider, bought a new phone and got all my contacts and pictures dumped into the new one. I have mixed feelings--I'm excited about the new one, but sad because THAT's the phone that Rick held in his hand and signed. The signature was long gone, though, so I guess it's okay.
Andrew's napping...it was a real temptation to lie there with him and sleep. It was cozy--cool sheets, breeze blowing in the window, cat at my feet. I have a headache, so that would have helped too. But, we're headed to a cookout/end of school year party later today, and a nap would have messed with my circadian rhythms or something, so I skipped it. I'm just waiting for James to make his triumphant return from the phone store and the grocery store so I can fix Mom's cauliflower salad then get dressed to go. Should be a fun evening--good friends, good food, good drink, and good weather. What could go wrong?

If it's not one thing, it's another, is it not?
