Happy 5th Birthday, Andrew!

Dear Andrew,

Happy 5th birthday sweetie!  I simply cannot believe that you are five years old and starting kindergarten tomorrow.  I am unbelievably happy and sad at the same time, but you know that your mommy is silly about stuff sometimes.  Unfortunately, I think you have gotten that from me.  As you embark on your new journey through school, and through being a 5 year-old, here are the wishes I made when you blew out your candles today.

I wish that you always have a sense of adventure that allows you to do things like this...

and that you are always healthy enough to do this...

that you continue to get strength from Lion when you need him,
but also to find strength and comfort on your own...
that the simple things in life give you great joy...

and that you are never afraid to be yourself and do things just a bit differently from everyone else...

...and most of all, that you always know that no matter how old you are, or where you are, or what you are doing, that I love you more than anything in the world.

Love, Mommy

Ha! My kids have all asked for doughnuts instead of cake for their birthdays! They are big maple flavor fans though....
