While I work on Tam's challenge.....

I wanted to take a minute and ramble about summer. If there is one thing I look forward to during the warmer months, it is coming home to throw food on the grill. In the case shown here, it is barbeque chicken with Open Pit barbeque sauce. When I was a kid, we had everything on the grill with this sauce. My dad even did an ersatz clams casino with Open Pit as the fluid. I hadn't had the stuff in years until the other week when we were at the beach. One minute, I am sipping a beverage and the next minute, I am told I am grilling chicken and there is the sauce to use and head on out to the grill. So there I am, with this familiar smell drifting off the grill....and it carried me back to when I was a kid. The chicken turned out to be a hit. So I grilled chicken with another sauce two weeks ago and it wasn't quite right. I was on a quest to find Open Pit. I knew Food Puppy didn't carry it, so I tried Wally-World. Sure enough, on the bottom shelf, ignored among the designer sauces and the Masterpieces and the Kraft.....there it was. A few hours later, the picture above meant happiness for all. The smell of the Open Pit chicken, a cold beverage, the warm breeze........the only thing that would make this better is if it happened @ sea-level. Peace out! ---J
